Marvel Knights?

Jeaph 17/03/2025 18h48

Joe Quesada and Christopher Priest create the future of the Marvel Universe in 'Marvel Knights: The World to Come.' The six-issue #MarvelComics series, told through the lens of the Marvel Knights imprint, arrives this June.
The King of Wakanda is dead, leaving the world’s most advanced technology, most precious metal, and a cryptic vault of dark secrets unguarded while triggering global conflicts amongst Marvel’s heroes, villains, and mutants.
With T’Challa gone and the future of the Marvel Universe teetering on a vibranium knife-edge, a tribal challenge ensues for the Wakandan throne. Its mysterious victor will emerge as the new leader of Wakanda and usher in the world to come.
Get your first look at the interior artwork and read more now: http://spr.ly/61820eNZ6
Recounting the history behind Marvel Knights, Quesada said, "In September 1998, MARVEL KNIGHTS DAREDEVIL #1 hit the stands, followed by THE PUNISHER (2001), INHUMANS (1998), and BLACK PANTHER (1998). Eight months earlier, Jimmy Palmiotti, Nanci Dakesian, and I, along with our creators, spent endless hours and sleepless nights producing the best books we could.

"We knew they looked different—edgier than anything Marvel was publishing at the time—but in a struggling comic book industry, there was no guarantee anyone would notice. We were confident they’d do well, but we didn't anticipate the overwhelming fan reaction or the lasting impact Marvel Knights would have on Marvel.

"Fast forward to October 2017—my best bud, mentor, and MARVEL KNIGHTS BLACK PANTHER writer (and, for my money, the best writer in comics), Christopher Priest, pitched me an idea rooted in his original Marvel Knights take on T'Challa and Wakanda. It was insane, beautiful, and edgy as hell. I told him I HAD to draw it—and that we should go even bigger."

"Priest delivered an opus—a journey that lets us—and fans—celebrate those original books while taking familiar characters to new and unexpected places. I haven’t had this much fun drawing a project since MARVEL KNIGHTS DAREDEVIL (1998) #1," Quesada said of the new series.

"More than twenty years ago I started as an Editorial Assistant on Marvel Knights books and now I get to watch Joe and Priest celebrate it with this masterwork," says Executive Editor Nick Lowe. "We've been working on this for a long time (Joe's finishing the last page of #5 this week) but I can’t believe the rest of the world gets in on it with us this June!"

Check out Quesada's wraparound cover along with a first look at interior artwork featuring colors by Richard Isanove. Preorder MARVEL KNIGHTS: THE WORLD TO COME #1 at your local comic shop and stay tuned for more new about this landmark series in the months ahead.

https://buzzpreview.buzzcomics.net/2.../ff_b94c91.jpg

Citation:

Marvel Comics is to relaunch their Fantastic Four comic book series in July as part of the current One World Under Doom crossover with a new Fantastic Four #1 to accompany the Fantastic Four: First Steps movie. But the comic book writer will still be Ryan North, who, to be fair, has been kicking it for the last couple of years on the series, creating one-shot issues that tie together into a wider narrative and have gotten the FF away from their Baxter Building roots into the wider American community. This time, however, it will be time travel and dinosaurs. And despite the events in today's One World Under Doom #2, Ben Grimm looks like he will be back in the rocks. The book will be drawn by Humberto Ramos, who has similarly been kicking it on the Strange Academy book and has a long history at Marvel and elsewhere.

They are still fighting Doctor Doom, though, in "a time-travelling story in which amid a battle with Doom, the four are sent to different eras of Earth's history. Their only chance to put things right is to reach something called the Forever Stone, a mass of granite that is also one of Earth's longest-lasting rocks, and is accessible in all time periods. And yes, Ben Grimm fights a dinosaur in these pages."

Ryan North states "This book comes in the middle of our One World Under Doom event, so you can be certain that he plays a role in those first few issues – and after that we've got science mysteries, monsters, and trips into space… But as much as this first story involves dinosaurs and time travel, it's really about these four remarkable people and the depth of love they have for each other. People often think of the FF in terms of family, and they're not wrong, but I think there's something really beautiful about friendship too, and we get to see that with these characters. It's high-concept science fiction with real emotion. What's not to like?"

Artist Humberto Ramos says, "I've been lucky to illustrate many of the most iconic superheroes in the universe, but this book felt different from the start. The weight of history and legacy of these characters lay upon your shoulders, no matter who you are or how you've worked in this industry."

scarletneedle 19/03/2025 18h29

For 50 years, GIANT-SIZE X-MEN (1975) #1 by Len Wein and Dave Cockrum has stood as one of the most important moments in Marvel Comics history, reshaping the X-Men forever. Now, Marvel celebrates its milestone anniversary with an all-new, five-part event spanning the greatest eras of mutantkind! Today, fans can learn about the event’s final two chapters on sale in July: GIANT-SIZE HOUSE OF M #1 and GIANT-SIZE X-MEN #2.

From the emergence of Krakoa in GIANT-SIZE X-MEN (1975) #1 to AGE OF APOCALYPSE (1995), HOUSE OF M (2005) and THE DARK PHOENIX SAGA, history has shaped – and shattered – the X-Men time and again. But what if those moments held deeper secrets? What if the past wasn’t set in stone? Acclaimed X-Scribes Collin Kelly and Jackson Lanzing join forces with legendary X-Men artist Adam Kubert and superstar artists Rod Reis, C.F. Villa, and Francesco Manna for an epic journey across the X-Men’s most pivotal stories.

Kicking off this May in GIANT-SIZE X-MEN (2025) #1, the event continues in June's GIANT-SIZE DARK PHOENIX SAGA (2025) #1 and GIANT-SIZE AGE OF APOCALYPSE (2025) #1. Then, the saga concludes in July with GIANT-SIZE HOUSE OF M (2025) #1 and GIANT SIZE X-MEN (2025) #2, which are revealed today!

She's flown with the All-Different X-Men on their first mission, withstood the Dark Phoenix and survived the Age of Apocalypse – and now Ms. Marvel is rewarded with a world where mutants reign supreme!

But beneath the gilded surface, this utopia is rotting with prejudice and oppression – and Kamala must find an unlikely ally in schoolteacher Kitty Pryde to help her learn to live in this brave new world. But if Kamala is here...so is Legion! What dangerous power will he unleash – and can Kamala recruit allies in time to stand against him? Or will she – and all of mutantkind – be newly decimated?

Each GIANT-SIZE X-MEN one-shot also features a Revelations Back-Up Story that uncovers hidden lore behind each respective story and sets up exciting present-day developments for the near future. In GIANT-SIZE HOUSE OF M #1’s Revelation Back-Up Story, current WOLVERINE (2024) creative team Saladin Ahmed and Martín Cóccolo reveal a secret memory that was disclosed to Wolverine at the end of House of M!
